Lord Mandelson today claimed that Universities must recruit more working-class students to justify an increase in tuition fees.

This is a really poor show to say the least – the Government has got it wrong again and is trying to pass the buck to David Cameron Cabinet in waiting.

University education is already understandard and too expensive, we need better standards before higher fees, in the current financial climate the last thing students need is higher fees.  Pandering to the working classes isn’t going to work especially when you ask them to pay more!
